Social Skills, Wants and Needs

Children are often jealous or resentful because they cannot have the toys or that their friends have or they see on television. This activity will help them discriminate the difference between thing they want and things they truly need.
You will need:
Apple
Toy
Chalkboard or chart paper
scissors
Crayons
glue
Show the the apple and the toy."Which one of these things do we really need to live, and which one would be nice to have.Explain that some things we really need,like , food and shelter.Other objects are simply things we want, like toys and ;we don't really need.Make a chart using pictures from sales paper,of things that are needed and things that are not.
