Snowman Garland

Since this winter we didn't get much snow here in MI, I thought it would be nice to do some snowman craft because my children were not able to make snowmen yet this winter. I found this wonderful craft that will keep up the winter spirit!,

What you need:

White paper ,

Instructions:

To make a stencil for your snowman shape, fold a 4"x6" sheet of paper in half. On the folded edge, draw three graduating circles, one on top of the other. Cut out the shapes and open the folded sheet of paper to reveal your snowman. Place the stencil on white paper and cut out the desired number of snowmen. Cut out a matching number of hats from black paper. Punch a hole on each side of the snowman's chest. String bakery twine through all of the snowmen and hang as a garland.

Potty Training Tips

Sometimes potty training can be very stressful for the parent and child. That why I believe that it is important to only train the child when they are ready. While every child is different, I believe that the best time to start potty training your child is after 2 1/2 years old. These are some tip that I found very useful and I wanted to share..

Sing their praise
I made up a little song that we sang every time our daughter sat on the potty. She loved it.

Read together
Go to the book  store and buy books that she can only read on the potty.

Use a special potty
You can have the child decorate the potty with stickers.

Try a timer
My biggest help was to be consistent. We used a timer to help us both remember to go potty. We started with every 20 minutes, and as I could see she was needing to go less, gradually increased the time. Eventually, they would tell you they needed to go before the timer go's off. Then try setting the timer for five or 10 more minutes and try again.

The colored water trick
Dye the toilet water with red or blue food coloring; it changes to orange or green and they love knowing they made the water change color.

Make them feel proud
Give your child lots of praise.

Use treats and surprises
Buy inexpensive toys and put them in a box and let them get a toy every time they go in the potty.

Celebrate with stickers
Make chart and give the child a sticker every time she go's in the potty.

Make flushing fun
Make a big deal out of flushing the toilet so that it will seam like a fun thing to do.

Throw out the diapers
You can use plastic underwear's instead.
