Stillwell: A Haunting On Long Island Review.
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Stillwell (A Haunting on Long Island) is a ghost story. It's a story of memories, monsters, history and haunting. The auther tells you the story of a heartbroken man, mourning the loss of his wife, who keeps seeing, smelling, and hearing her throughout the house. His youngest daughter sees her too but, fortunately, she's oblivious to the hairy beast that Paul cannot separate from his wife.
While this is, in every respect, a ghost story, it does not rely upon the supernatural to deliver its chills. In fact, how one reads it is entirely up to the reader - either as a story of mental anguish and shared memories, or one of curses and haunting.
This is a personal story, but there is a nice framework built around the house, the family, and the town. Stillwell draws you in by making you sympathize with Paul's loss, but then gets under your skin, trapping you in his nightmare. I believe that this author has great potential, and will in time make great stories, but this book needs more action.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
