Reading Eggs.com Review

I received a 3 free  month  subscription from readingeggs.com to do a review on the program. I really like this program! It is very effective in teaching children how to read. I have two daughters, ages 2 and 4, and they both really love this program! It teaches everything from letter reconation, phonic, and ABC's. It teaches how to sound out words and how to read. What I like about this progarm is that it is really fun, and my girls learned a lot. They also have games that they can play which is really good at keeping children entertained with this site.
 Every time that the children finish a level of the lesson a new egg cracks open and my girls get so excited when this happens!
Over all I give this company 5 stars!

Deluxe Family Inflatable Swimming Pool Review

 This pool is big enough me and my  two children. We had so much fun in this pool last summer! This item would have received five stars but the lack of drain plug is really annoying. You have to have a small hoard of people tip it or push down the sides.
  We had this pool for a year and before it got a link in it. We were going to buy another one but after reading more reviews and talking to people who, also had this pool we decided not to got another one because everyone we talked said that they had to replace the pool every year, which is a waste of time. I think that if you really enjoy this pool, you could but a water pump to pump the water out so that you won't get any links.

Banzai Double Drop Falls Water Slide Review

Although this purchase was a blast to begin with it was a huge waste of  time in the end. We brought this slide from Aldi's for 211.00, the first one we brought had a hole in it so we took it back within 30 days, and got another one. The problem with this slide is that it is very heavy, which makes it hard to hang and dry. It takes two days for it to dry completely! You have to let dry on each side for a day, which is a lot of work and is not worth the trouble. 
  We were able to get our money back from Aldi  , so that was good. This water slide only holes up to 200 pounds. So it can hole up to 3 children ages 2 to 5 years, without smashing down. We decided to get a bounce house instead which I think will be easier to maintain.

Tide Pods Review

 I received two sample of  Tide Pods from vocalpoint.com, which I was very excited to try. The Tide Pods have a very nice smell.They are very easy to use.There is no poring to do. All you have to do is pop them in the washing machine. I washed my clothes with the them but didn't see any difference in the stains on my clothes. I washed two loads. The Tide Pods, left a nice smell in my laundry but I am sad to say, did not
 remove any stains.

Lipton Tea&Honey Review

I received some free samples of Lipton Tea&Honey from Klout to try out. The flavor, which was Mango Pineapple,taste good but I don't like this product because it has sucralose sweetener in it, which makes it have an after taste. This would be a great product if it was made with just plain sugar!

Being bored Sometimes is Good For Children

I used to be convinced that as soon as my oldest son could produce a gummy smile, it was my job to be his personal entertainment director. All the time. I felt guilt—immense guilt—when I thought I wasn’t doing enough.
Carol Nama, a mom of three (ages 10, 7, and 3) in Willow Grove, Pennyslvania, can relate. Even though her older boys tend to be super busy during the school year with sports and activities, summertime—and its lack of structure—is a different story.“ A nice, slow day to me is like the kiss of death to my kids,” she says.
Contrary to what most kids believe, no one has ever died from boredom. Being able to cope with an unscheduled day—or hour—is a critical life skill, says Eileen Kennedy– Moore, Ph.D., co-author of Smart Parenting for Smart Kids. “Parents often see boredom as their responsibility to fix or think it means they’re not doing a good enough job,” she says. “I disagree with that.”
Facing down boredom can spur creativity and play, and helps kids learn to motivate themselves. That’s a skill they’ll need throughout life, not just on quiet summer days, but in school and, someday, at work.
Here’s how to help a bored kid—but not too much:

Preschoolers: Help them plan ahead

When you know you’ll be in a boredom-inducing situation, it’s okay to help your child plan for it instead of working out what you’ll do to keep him happy. For instance, if you think he’ll get bored watching a big sib’s baseball game, ask him to pick out two or three special activities to bring along.
It also helps to acknowledge your child’s feelings. You might say, “You’re feeling restless right now,” or “I know it’s hard to wait while grown-ups talk.” This’ll help him see that it’s normal to feel bored sometimes—but that it doesn’t mean you’ll swoop in to save the day instantly.

Royal Privilege Vacuum Cleaner Review

I brought this  Royal Privilege Upright Vacuum Cleaner two years ago because at the time, I needed a new vacuum because my old one was broken. I brought it from, Banks Vacuum Super Stores in MI. I paid $275 plus tax. It came with a free car vacuum, and a 5 year warranty. Which included service on parts and labor.
 This is a very good vacuum. It can cleans the smallest dirt off your floor! Its made very sturdy. It is very easy to push and is much quieter than my old one. It comes with attachments that can be use to clean the carpet on the stairs or you could even clean your car with it.
    The only problem I had with this vacuum is that the hose  broke twice.  But since it has a 5 year warranty I got it fixed both times for free. This is a very good vacuum I would recommend it to anyone!

Brother HL-2270DW Compact Laser Printer Review

My husband and I brought this printer from my father-in-law because he wanted a different printer and couldn't take it back to the store because he would have to pay a restocking fee. We brought it from him for $60, which was a great price!
   I love this printer because of its wireless ability,  so I don't  have any cables running to it from my computers. I couldn't be happier with this printer, especially for the price. One thing to note, however, is that the toner cartridges are a little more expensive than ink jet but on the plus side of that, Brother claims an average of 1200 pages from that, which is much more than you would ever get out of a black ink cartridge.
 It works every single time I turn it on to use it. Speed and print quality are very good, you wait longer for your PC to send the print job compared to other printers.

 The drawbacks are that the setup is overly complicated and you will need to follow the cryptic instructions in the manual closely. However, once it's up and running it works well. Over all this is a great printer for the price!

AVEENO Anti-Itch Anti-Itch Concentrated Lotion Review

I have really bad eczema and is always looking for something that will provide relief from the itching, associated with eczema.
So I tried Aveeno Anti-Itch Concentrated Lotion, 4-Ounce Bottle. It is a good lotion. It stops the itch right away. I would recommend using this product if your eczema keeps you awake at night because of the itching. This lotion last on your skin for hours. The only thing I don't like about this product is that when you first put this lotion on it makes my skin feel clammy.

Product Description

This concentrated anti-itch lotion provides fast, temporary relief of the itching and pain associated with many minor skin irritations such as poison ivy/oak/sumac, insect bites, and chicken pox rash. With calamine to dry up the weepy rashes, and with less water and more emollients, it won't run or drip like other ordinary calamine lotions. The creamy formula with skin-soothing Natural Colloidal Oatmeal is non-greasy and invisible when rubbed into skin; it acts as an external analgesic and a skin protectant.
